Our team won the 9th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Technology Invention Award
Recently, the review of the 9th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award in 2019 was completed. Our technical VP Professor Yu Hao and Professor Ngai Wong's team project "Key Technology Development for Deep Computing Chips for Edge Computing" won the third prize of Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Technology Invention Award.
Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award, since its establishment in 2011, has been hailed as “China's highest award for intelligent science and technology”, sponsored by China Artificial Intelligence Society, pioneering and leading the Chinese intelligent scientific research. The winner is named after Mr. Wu Wenjun. The award has been nominated, recommended and evaluated by experts from various local artificial intelligence institutes, universities and research institutes, academic committees and working committees, member organizations (enterprise) units, academicians, and other experts.
The team's research on edge artificial intelligence and chip design have made it possible for complex machine learning algorithms to run efficiently on limited computing resources (terminal devices).
The team developed training quantization algorithms for deep learning convolutional neural networks (CNN), deep learning recurrent neural network (RNN) tensor compression algorithms, and associated high-throughput (> 10TOPs) low power (< 1W) Edge intelligence and chips. The difference in technology and leadership can achieve the performance of existing GPU chips, but the power consumption is only one thousandth, suitable for edge artificial intelligence scenes, such as drones, robots and so on.
